“Glorified be He who carried His servant by night from the inviolable place of worship (Makkah) to the far distant place of worship (Al-Aqsa), the environs whereof We have blessed, that We might show him of our signs! Lo! He is the all-hearing, the all-seeing” (Quran 17:1). Al-Isra wal-Miraj marks one of, if not the most salient event of the revelatory experience of the Prophet of God (SAW). Shaykh Faid talks about the importance of the Prophet’s (SAW) night journey, and the significance of the Prophet (SAW) being in the presence of Allah himself.
